Here is a fun and easy canvas that you can make for a kid’s room.
I made this one for Madelyn’s room, but it can be adapted for almost any room in the house, so let that creativity soar.
First, I bought a pack of two canvases from Hobby Lobby that I paid around $5 for – with a coupon. I also purchased a couple of colors of paints – green for the grass and blue for the sky.
I painted the top of the canvas blue where the sky would be and painted the bottom green – the green color came out way more florescent than I was expecting, so I mixed in some of the blue and that softened it enough.
Then, for the designs, I drew a tree, an owl and some butterflies onto some craft paper and cut the drawings out.
Next, I laid out the craft paper cut-outs to make sure they fit and trimmed where needed.
Then, I traced and cut out the tree, owl, butterflies and flowers from brightly colored scrapbook paper. Make sure to layer! Next, it’s Mod Podge time!
Glue the scrapbook paper pieces down with mod podge, then paint a thin layer over the top to seal the entire thing.
Let them dry, then you have an original piece of art! The possibilities are endless…
