I’m big on being grateful and saying thank you. I think that each and every wonderful thing in my life is a gift and I am trying hard to instill this value in Madelyn. I came up with a way to encourage her to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and to display all the things that she is grateful for this year.
I cut a tree out of some craft paper and used thumb tacks to put it on her playroom wall.
Please excuse my lack of artistic skills…
Then I printed a picture of a leaf and traced and cut out several leaves, then I numbered them.
Each day, Madelyn pulls out a leaf and writes what she is grateful for. It helps her practice writing and spelling and also helps her understand that she has much to be grateful for.
We’ve had everything from Mommy and Daddy and friends to pumpkin pie and unicorns. Anything goes! It’s fun to see what she comes up with.
Madelyn and I would love to know…what are you grateful for?
