I have an adorable project for you – and one that the kids can get into!
Madelyn and I love decorating for the holidays and Valentine’s Day is no exception. I’m LOVING experimenting with my new Cricut Expression 2 that I got for Christmas and recently used the original cartridge that is loaded in the machine to cut out a layered purple heart to put on a plain brown bag to wrap a present for a party. It jazzed it up a bit and I added purple tissue paper and a purple bow-it turned out lovely – wish I would have taken a picture of it…
Anyway, the ladies and gents at the party loved the little added heart and one of my co-workers asked me to make her a heart to hang up at her house. This gave me an idea…
So, I reved up the Cricut…
I cut out 4 hearts – the top left corner heart under the “blackout/shadow” button, size 5.50-out of a deep red colored paper that I had on hand.
Then, I cut 4 hearts from the first page – also top left corner, size 4.50-out of different valentine-type paper that I had in my stock.
I couldn’t find a glue stick anywhere – a cute little 4 year old is my first suspect, so I used some spray adhesive and it did the trick.
I glued the patterned hearts onto the red hearts and they turned out like this…
I had some pink grograin ribbon on hand that I thought would work…I think I bought this at Hobby Lobby:)
I layed the hearts, face down, on the floor and sparayed the backs with glue. Then, layed the ribbon over them and pressed down to secure the hearts to the ribbon.
I looped the very top of the ribbon and glued it into place on the top heart.
The glue wasn’t pretty, but it doesn’t show, so don’t worry about it being messy.
So, that’s all! let it dry, then hang it up!
Happy Love Day!
