In an attempt to save some money and due to my ongoing effort to shrink my family’s carbon footprint. I recently set out to find a way to save money on cleaning supplies using ingredients that had less chemicals, but just as much cleaning power. I was skeptical at first, but I wanted to give it a try. You can find this recipe all over the web, but I’ve included it here for your convenience:) It works great! Give it a try!
I bought all 3 ingredients at our local Wal-mart. You will need:
*Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
*Fels-Naptha – a small, bar-of-soap-type thing.
First, mix 5 cups of Borax and 5 cups of washing soda into a large container.
Next, grate the entire bar of Fels-Naptha into the container.
Put on a tight lid and shake it!
It should eventually look like this…
That’s it! Use only 2 tbs per load. This is going to last us a while and my total spending was just $7.75!
Now you can use the saved money for those cute boots you’ve been eyeing…
