Today was crazy hair day at Madelyn’s school! We decided on a flower garden because I thought it would be easy and would stay all day. It sure was easy – it took us about 15 minutes to complete – pictures and all. As far as staying power – we’ll have to wait until 2:00!
We started with dry combed out hair – her hair is so long! She isn’t really a short hair kind of gal, so I guess we’ll get used to it.
I started sectioning off her hair, very randomly, into small ponytails.
I think we ended up with 6 or 7.
Then, start teasing! I back combed each piece and sort of twisted and pinned until it looked like a jumbled mess, or rather a “grassy meadow”-whichever you prefer.
Then, we sprayed the “grass” green, of course! Here’s what I used – picked it up in the Target Halloween section for $2:)
Here’s what the green looked like – we had to use a lot because her hair is so dark, but I think the idea is there…
After spraying her head green, I got worried that the green would rub off on our pretty hair flowers, so I came up with this idea…
…coffee filters! Just place the flower clip in the center of the filter and cut around it.
Then, just poke the clip through so that the filter is covering the bottom of the flower.
Stick the flowers randomly in your “grass” hair and that’s all!
Madelyn is happy with it and can’t wait to show her friends!
It was so fun seeing all the crazy hair creations at school!
Have a crazy hair kind of day!
Peace and love,
