Candy Cane Hairstyle

December 20, 2012 By Stacey Leave a Comment

candy hair title

My friend, Julia helped me think of this one when she saw my “heart shaped” hairstyle that I often do for my daughter – that tutorial will come later…I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

Here’s how you do it…

Start with combed, wet hair.

website 201

Put it in a high side ponytail.

website 202

Pull the ponytail out just a bit, split hair in half and push your thumb through the opening.

website 203

Push the ponytail through the opening upward.

website 205

Pull the ponytail all the way through, so that it looks like this…

website 207

Tie a ribbon around the rubberband – I really wanted to use one white and one red, but I didn’t have it, so this is what I did…

website 208

Braid the ponytail pulling it up as you go.

website 210

Wrap the ribbon around it and let it flop to the side.  We also put a couple of bobby pins in it to keep it in place.

website 211

Do you see the candy cane?  We will work on perfecting it, but everyone at dance class loved it!

If you try it, send us a picture!

Happy Holidays!
