Madelyn LOVES leg warmers! Whether it’s for dance class or just hanging out, she’ll add some leg warmers to any outfit. Here’s what I’ve noticed…legwarmers are EXPENSIVE! So, I found a way to make inexpensive legwarmers that take only about 10 minutes to make – all you need is a pair of women’s or junior’s knee high socks, pins, thread and a sewing machine.
First, choose your socks – the funkier the better. I got this pair from Target – on sale for $1.74!
Next, cut the sock into four sections, as shown.
Throw the heel section and the toe section away. Fold the middle foot section in half as shown, wrong sides together.
Pin the smaller section to the cut end of the sock with all rough edges together, as shown – this fabric really slips as you sew, so you’ll have to use several pins.
Next, sew the 2 pieces together. I used a looser zig zag stitch so that it would stretch.
That’s it! Turn the seam under and there you have it…
Cute little leg warmers, in about 10 minutes!
